Bude in North Cornwall boasts a trio of lovely beaches: Summerleaze; Middle; and Crooklets. On a receding tide gulls and oystercatchers patrol the water's edge, running up and down to avoid the incoming waves, and looking for food. Shots of gulls silhouetted by the setting sun abound in Cornish images but in this one I managed to capture one in flight, its wing bisecting the reflected sun on the wet sand and its tail semi-translucent.
