Westward Ho! in North Devon, the only town in Britain with an exclamation mark in its name boasts a spectacular long and very flat beach. Windswept by the prevailing westerly winds it is a popular venue for kite surfing, kite boarding and kite buggying (shown here). On Saturday mornings the local club organises kite buggy races up and down the vast beach, which is always a great photo opportunity. Here three racers are heading south along the beach, their colourful parafoils overhead. Behind lies Hartland Point, with its lighthouse just visible near sea level, and the domed Ministry of Defence radar tower on top of the cliffs.
